They’ve not moved it.  Where I found them was as follows (extract directly from the "Further Reading" page on the World Ostomy Resource). http://www.convatec.com/ Booklets at Convatec.  Can be printed or ordered. To get to them, from the main page select Ostomy Care, followed by Educational Services. However, unlike my listing, there is now more (thanks for making me re-visit, otherwise I would not have found the changes for another month or two).  This is the current list (the ‘Resource’ will be updated this weekend): Better Together Newsletter in PDF format – Introductory Issue Preventing & Managing Peristomal Skin Problems (English, French) Living with an Ostomy – A Guide for Teens (English) A Professional’s Guide for Counseling Ostomy Patients (English) Living with Confidence after Colostomy Surgery (English,Spanish) Living with Confidence after Ileostomy Surgery (English,Spanish) Living with Confidence after Urostomy Surgery (English,Spanish) Having looked again at the pictures in the Peristomal Skin Problems article, they do not really give a good idea of what a stoma looks like – memory appears to make things look better.  The articles, however, are well worth a read! Go to the Coloplast site (http://www.coloplast.com/)for a view of stoma’s. You will find them in the ostomy/educational area, the article on peristomal care.  Don’t get put off by the subject matter (it talks about what to do in case of rashes, problems etc). My Stomal Therapist, before I went for my op, puckered her lips, squeezed from each side with a finger and said (it sounded funny talking with her lips like that) "this is something like what it looks like".  If you have seen people refer to it as a rosebud, that’s because you can easily pretend it is. Response:

Hi- I had emergency surgery when my colon ruptured. I knew very little about an ostomy, so I was shocked to see my stoma was RED. For some reason I thought it would be flesh colored.  I call mine Rosebud.  When I was in the hospital they have you use a clear pouch so you get used it. When I got home I switched to Opaque(flesh-colored) pouches. It may not be beautiful but it gave me my life back. Good Luck Colleen

Hi there, I am a 21 year old female.  Due to a spinal cord injury, I am possibly going to require a colostomy.  This may seem like a strange question, but what does it look like?  Are there any links I can go to to get an idea?  Thanks for any replies.
